Mary Stevens Canterbury

Attended SAU from 1978 to 1980. Took a two year business course. Didn't want to teach because my mom did and look at me now! Married Jeff, June 6, 1980. Jeff went back to college and received his music degree. Can you believe that was some of our happiest memories. Poor, but having a good time. Lived in Ark. 1 yr, Longview 1 yr and ended up here in Homer for the last 19 yrs. I started the first flagline here in Homer almost 15 yrs ago, and then a rifleline. Felt like I was going through my high school yrs again. Retired now but still keep my finger in tryouts and such.

All my years were special at SHS. My freshman yr was the first time I was back in public school for 5 yrs. I attended the Christian Acdemy our church had started. My classmates made me feel welcome once again since elementary school. I do remember with fondness when we were on the Executive Council w/ P. Carroll. One of our fund raisers was the movie "Where the Red Fern Grows". It was a reel to reel movie(remember those?). We charged .50 (I think) and showed it during school time. Boy, those where the days! I cried through the whole movie.
