Special prayer request for Jerry Hart's dad who was injured in a log loading accident near Camden Ar. He is in Little Rock and has been moved from the trauma critical care ward. He took a hard impact to the face and head and has a long road of recovery ahead. I just talked to Jerry's mom 9pm Christmas and she and Ken both need our prayers.

Of course Wally, we can't be that old. Me, I have a one year old son and probaly will have three more. But I think the telltale sign is I had my first grandchild on November 8, 2009. Her name is Liliana Suzanna Lyssa Hart, thank goodness she looks like her mother and father.
Wally have you noticed we seem to be getting shorter???? Oh NO, we may be getting old, but it sure beats the alternative.

NEW ORLEANS — Who owns "Who Dat?"

Some T-shirt makers are asking that question after they were hit with cease-and-desist letters from the NFL demanding that they stop selling shirts with the traditional cheer of New Orleans Saints fans.

The National Football League says the shirts infringe on a legal trademark it owns. Separately, two brothers and longtime Saints fans claim they own the phrase, which was around before the long-downtrodden team's inception in 1966.

The league said Friday it's not trying to exclude all uses of Who Dat and the fleur-de-lis logo — just when either is used in combination with other Saints trademarks, like their fleur-de-lis logo and uniform designs.

The chant — "Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints" — is often shortened to "Who Dat" on shirts and signs and has been a mainstay at the Superdome since the 1980s. Saints fans, still jubilant after the Saints' win over the Minnesota Vikings for their first Super Bowl appearance, have voiced their dismay on radio talk shows, blogs and Web site posts. Many say it's something that simply can't be owned.

Two members of Louisiana's congressional delegation — Republican Sen. David Vitter and Democratic Congressman Charlie Melancon — took public umbrage at the NFL. To view the letter sent to the NFL and sign it, go to this link. www.davidvitter.com

Has anyone in the Springhill area heard anything about whether the relief on the old high school auditorium will be saved and possibly restored? it would be a shame to let that piece of history vanish with the old school.

let me know what you think?

Been off the grid lately. How is everyone? For the ones of us that were Howell Elementary grads the old school is now a pile of debris. It is being torn down and there is very little left standing. Remember to pray for Springhill and most other small town communities that are being hit so hard these days. Have a great summer and remember that you're old so take it easy!

Buck, that is not the multi purpose room. That is the cafeteria left standing. Must be the dried food on the wall that makes it invincible!

That building was tough!  It never shook at all from the thunderous beatings they used to hand out over there.  Wish I had a $10 bill for every :whuppin" that was handed out there.  I know I gave up my share of the butt!

Hey Guys,

Seems like we've dropped of the face of the earth again.  I know everyone is busy with their lives but pop a note every now and then just to keep current.  Patrick and Lindsay are in Decautur, AL at Southside Baptist Church.  Patrick is the new Minister of Youth and Lindsay is the doting wife.  Young love!!!  Blake and Ashley are expecting their first child in Nov., Emmrie Blake.  We are all looking forward to greeting her!  As most of you know Daddy passed away this past March.  He had an infection that was fatal.  I still miss him and expect to see him when I go home.  I know he is in a better place, I wouldn't want him here like he was and he wouldn't either. Thanks to you all for the cards, prayers, words of love. Mom is doing fine.  For those who really know her she was always busy every day and into something all time.

I hope everyone is doing well and can't wait till we get together again.

LOL

Mary

Hey Wally, to answer your question, Both. That was last Feb. where I'm working in WI. it had been a white out for a few hours and it let up and I was heading to my office and a friend snapped a few pic's. about fifty yards behind me was the power block but you can barely make out a few lights. as far as the beard, My wife asked me to grow it to see how I looked. I'm kinda glad I had it. It got down to -24 with the wind chill at -50 and it did make a difference. Can't wait to get back to the Hill.
