Some of you are old folks while some of us have not reached 49 yet. Ha! Anyway I see the class of 77 is having a 50th birthday party for those old folks this weekend, maybe something for us next year?

Yea, I think 50 years is something to celebrate... not that we actually NEED an excuse, but I'll take it. I hope to see a bunch of you guys this weekend for Homecoming. I think a front is blowing through, so maybe by 7:00 it'll be prime football weather and just right for Lumberjack Festival the next day. See ya. JG

I'm still 48, too--if just for a few more days. Have another year to go before I hit the big 50. For those 50, you'll have to tell the "youngsters" how it is!!!

Happy Bday everyone!

ok,
ya'll are making me feel OLD! Who is the youngest in our class and who is the oldest? Just remember, my birthday is in DEC. I'm a late bloomer I guess. John, I'm planning on coming to homecoming also. I hope we have a good turn out. Do we want to do something before or after the game everybody? We could have a great time just like last year!

Hi guys,
I provided wrong information yesterday in an email to everyone. Danny Formby's mother did NOT pass away - it was his aunt who passed away last week. So, please help pass that word along to anyone who may think otherwise and I apologize for the error to Danny and to you guys. Thanks for helping with this.
Sincerely, John

Hey JG we all know about mistakes. Man I check the obits everyday just to make sure I'm not in there. Sure wouldn't want to miss an extra day of being me. We planning on coming to the game but won't stay for it all. Saturday is the youth hunt and Garrett is primed and ready to go. Later Muldoon

colonoscopy guys and girls is very important. it really doesn't matter what age. My wife lost an aunt at 42.
I am in the insurance business and cancer insurance is my speciality. Wally is right, it is the silent killer, very painful, no obvious signs until it is too late.
I go every five years, and also every 2 years to have my arteries checked. there are companies, that do three test usually through churches and oither organizations that check neck arteries( main cause for stroke) bone denisity(posture and future breaks) and abdomial for several things. I think all tests without insurance are 180.00. Most insurance companies cover these at 100%.
I've lost 3 uncles to Cancer, 2 to stroke's. not much older than us, so check it out, so we can all be at our 40 and 50 year reunions.
I have handled 300 plus cancer claims personally, i go visit the families and go visit them in the hospital, it is very trying but with todays technology, most are curable if caught in the early stages. Prevention is first

Here's an update for ya WJ. Springhill lost to Calvary 20-6. Homecoming was wet and muddy. The rain held off Friday night but the field was horrendous. It was a good turnout both for the Jacks and the reunion goers. Because of homecoming falling on Lumberjack Festival weekend, some reunions had to meet out of town because everything in town was booked up. And to make matters worse, a tornado touched down north of town around the lake causing more problems for residents and reunion parties. One was even held in Magnolia. I guess that'll do it from the hilltown!

hey, kevin, that little update from the hill was cool. Some of us that can't be around would like to hear more if you don't mind, kinda like a prairie home companion and the stories of lake wobegone where the men are all handsome, the women beautiful and the kids are all above average.

Body of woman who went over spillway in air mattress is found

Updated: Oct 28, 2009 2:53 PM

The body of a woman who went over the Lake Erling spillway in Lafayette County, Ark., Tuesday evening has been recovered just downstream from the spillway.

Authorities said the woman was in an air mattress when she went over the spillway and disappeared about 6:15 p.m. Her body was found this morning, caught up in some trees about 70 yards below the spillway, authorities said.

The woman is identified as 30-year-old Devan LeAnn Burge of Shongaloo in neighboring Webster Parish.

Authorities said Burge was with a male friend, who told them he and Burge were attempting air mattress rides down the spillway, where the water was surging.

Lafayette County sheriff's deputies and Arkansas State Police are investigating the friend's account of what happened. Burge's body has been sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

Burge was fully clothed when her body was found, including wearing a jacket and shoes, authorities said.

This is the Methodist Church at the end of Texas Street. The man in the car was waiting at the light.

Kevin,
Thanks for the videos. We were out of school that Friday because of flooded roads in Claiborne Parish. It was really something to see roads that looked like rivers. We tried to come over that Sat. to see mom and dad and couldn't get to Springhill, we tried 3 different ways! That Sun, Blake and Ashley did make it through from Homer going the Sykes'(?) Ferry Bridge way and saw a dead alligator on the side of the road! Man it was some weird sights that weekend.

Oh Yeah, I've been over that spillway on my butt, never went over on an apparatus, or at FLOOD STAGE! But, Yeah, I've slid down the Spillway at least 100 times. THere are big concrete blocks at the bottom, probably 8 feet past the bottom of the slide, I bet she got boiled around and whacked on those things.

Remember going through the culverts out at the Mill Ponds? That seems a bit crazy now too. Those were the Bulletproof Years! Take Care everybody!
